Patrick Borchard, a financial executive at Pangea Properties, graduated with high honors from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in finance and accounting. Today, Patrick Borchard stays involved with his alma mater through the Notre Dame Club of Chicago, a group of alumni who continue to support the university through donation, service projects, networking events, and scholarship sponsorship.
The club currently sponsors over 70 Notre Dame students. Scholarships offered by the Notre Dame Club of Chicago are available to high school seniors who live in Cook County and have been accepted to the university. Each year, the financial aid office at Notre Dame determines student financial need to qualify entering freshmen for the scholarships.
Individuals identified by the school’s financial aid office are then sent applications that must be completed and submitted to the club by the first week in April. Scholarship recipients have the option of renewing their award for all four years of their undergraduate career, assuming their financial situation does not change and that they maintain a positive academic record.
